Over the past few weeks we’ve been presenting a series of articles on our different Silkin Management Group blog sites on the benefits of short morning meetings in a health care office. The last article we ran on this can be found at this Silkin Management Group site: http://bit.ly/Awizpv
The previous articles covered 15 different benefits of morning meetings that Silkin Management Group consultants go over with their clients. Today we’ll go over several more benefits.
• Identifying potential calls for the Doctor: There should be a system in place that protects the Doctor from being interrupted from telephone calls throughout the day. The receptionist should be well trained on how to handle random calls for the Doctor and how to make sure the Doctor gets his/her needed messages. Setting aside a 30 minute block of time after lunch for the Doctor to return calls is one good way to help insure the Doctor doesn’t get interrupted. However, there may be calls that the Doctor wants to be informed of. The morning meeting is an excellent place for the Doctor to advise the administrative staff of potential calls that he/she wants to be informed of on an immediate basis.
• Analyzing yesterday’s schedule: Reviewing the positives and negatives of how the previous day went, and determining how to strengthen the positives and handle the negatives, will go a long way towards making the practice more efficient and productive.
We will continue these articles, over the next week or so, and post them on our Silkin Management Group blog sites.
