In 10 previous Silkin Management Group articles presented on our various Silkin Management Group blog sites we have covered over 20 different reasons for holding morning meetings in a health care office. The previous article can be accessed here: http://bit.ly/y90ngA In today’s article we’ll present the final two reasons from this list.
• Practice Announcements: Use the morning meeting to make appropriate announcements to the staff. This might include upcoming continuing education events, staff birthdays, holiday parties, special events, new staff, etc. Keeping the staff informed of important general information helps create a better team.
• Restating Your Mission Statement: Your mission statement is the heart and soul of what you are trying to accomplish in your practice. It often gets lost in the day to day activity of production and relating to patients. But the more the staff keep the practice’s mission statement in mind, the more they will work together as a team and take care of the patients with the highest care. This will be experienced directly and indirectly by each and every patient or client and result in happy patients who refer to your practice.
We will review the entire list in summary form in our final article in this series. You will be able to access that article at this Silkin Management Group blog site: http://silkinmanagementgroup.net/
In the meantime, if you aren’t already, start scheduling in morning meetings in your office. Take a couple of reasons from our list that you like best and implement them in the first few meetings. Then start adding more items until you have a regular agenda for your meetings throughout the week. There are certain items that might be covered every day and certain ones that might be looked at less regularly. In any case, start implementing these meetings regularly and you will find yourself with a more cohesive and higher morale office.
